Waste

I will use a mug instead of a plastic cup.
If you replace 4 plastic cups of coffee a day with a mug, in a year you will save 5.84kg of plastic waste from going to landfill.

I will print on both sides of the paper.
The amount of waste paper buried in the UK each year would fill 102.448 double decker buses. Think how many trees it took to make that much waste paper!

Energy

I will unplug my phone charger at the mains, once it has charged.
Leaving your mobile phone plugged into the charger all night wastes 8 hours worth of energy. Do that every day for a year - that is a lot of nasty carbon!

I will replace at least one light bulb with an energy saving bulb
Energy saving light bulbs use 80% less electricity and last up to 10 times longer than ordinary ones.

Travel

I will share a lift to work at least once a week
Every year 10 million seats go empty on the road. You might make new friends while saving the world!

I will not leave my engine running when Im stuck in a traffic jam.
Idle cars emit C02 and consume fuel. We all have to suffer traffic jams, do not let the planet (or your purse) suffer too!

Your mobile phone charger is more powerful than it looks... 95% of the energy used by the charger is wasted if you leave it plugged in once the phones charged!
